Part artist, part geek, JUDITH JAMES uses photography in her personal and design work. She likes working with other artists and non-profits, mostly on the web.

Previously she was a principal at edgeX studio, a design partnership affiliated with The Bakery, a post-production sound studio for film & tv, north hollywood, ca. While at edgeX studio, she designed graphics and motion graphics for video, print and websites. She completed an MFA degree in film & television at USC Cinema-TV.

She has also edited documentary films, dissertations, and a children’s book. Her publication design experience includes Bombshelter Press (editor jack grapes), Rattle Press (editor alan fox), and the zine, sgraffito, which she cofounded and edited. She previously earned an MA degree in English from the University of Michigan.

Growing up in Oslo, Norway, Augsburg, Germany and Seoul, South Korea, JUDITH JAMES credits her early life for her adaptability and a love for language.
